Holy Family Defeats Jordan for the 3rd time this year
Jordan began the game with a base hit. The next batter struck out. On the strike out pitch, catcher Tony Bauer threw out the base runner attempting to steal to complete a strike em out throw em out double play. After that the great pitching duel of T.J. Oakes and Miles Campbell was on for the 4th time. There was no score until the bottom of the 4th. With two out an nobody on base, Pat Balius singled up the middle. The next hitter was Brad Hallman. Brad drove a home run to right center to give the fire a 2-0. This proved to be all that Miles Campbell needed. In the 6th, Eric Koehler lead off with a single. He stole 2nd and advanced to 3rd on an error. Pat Balius then tripled to left center to and drove in an important insurance run. Miles took care of business in the 7th and struck the last batter out with 2 runners on. The Fire now travel to Glencoe on Thursday and play at 5:00 in the winner’s bracket semi-final.
Holy Family Wins First Round Game 10-0
Holy Family defeats Faribault B.A. 10-0 in 5 innings. The fire got an early lead on a sac fly by Eric Koehler going up 1-0 after the 1st inning. The following inning Holy Family put up 4 more which included RBI singles from Jeff Soule and Eric Koehler. Miles Campbell started on the mound and was brilliant. Miles went 5 innings getting the complete game shutout. Miles struck out 12 batters out of 15 possible outs. The fire then put up 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to go up 10-0 and end the game early. Holy Family will host Jordan on Tuesday at 5:00 in Victoria.
